ANDERSON, Calif. — October 3, 2026

Eric Gannon and the B&G Motorsports #02 were in line to start on the pole for the Fall Harvest 150 before an oil leak in practice changed the plan. Gannon started at the rear of the field just in case the repaired oil tank didn’t hold. He ran as high as third but finished 12th after running out of fuel with 16 laps remaining.
The leak showed up during Friday evening’s practice. The team traced it to the dry sump oil tank but never found the exact source.
Repairs were made with no guarantee they would hold. Rather than risk laying oil on the racing surface for the cars behind, the team gave up the pole and started shotgun, at the back of the 15-car field.

From there Gannon moved forward. He was seventh with 120 laps to go. With 93 laps to go he avoided a turn-four crash and advanced to fifth, then moved to third on the restart as cars around him got together. Fourteen cars were still running. He stayed third after missing a second turn-four spin with 67 laps left.
Race leader Stearns, who led for many laps in the #6 car began smoking for several laps bringing out a caution flag on the track. Gannon was fourth with 35 laps to go.
On the restart Stearns returned to the lead, still smoking heavily, then pulled off. That put the #02 back into third with 31 laps remaining.
With 16 laps left, the #02 ran out of fuel and fell to a 12th-place finish. The race was scheduled for 150 laps, but more than 70 laps were run under yellow. Those laps do not count toward the total, so while the car was burning fuel the scored distance barely moved.

“We were supposed to start on the pole,” the team said. “We started last so we wouldn’t put oil down on the racetrack but…
Eric drove from the back to third. The fuel didn’t make it, and we finished 12th. We’ll find and fix the leak and hope our luck changes in 2027.”
