ANDERSON, CA (April 4, 2026) — In front of a near sellout crowd at Shasta Speedway, B&G Motorsports opened its 2026 season with a hard-fought 4th place finish, overcoming persistent mechanical issues aboard the #02 ZL1 Camaro driven by Eric Gannon.
Despite chasing an engine hesitation throughout practice and qualifying, Gannon still managed to place the car 11th on the grid, ranking among the fastest cars in the 15-second bracket.
At the drop of the green flag, Gannon quickly advanced through traffic, climbing to 7th within the opening laps. A multi-car incident in Turns 3 and 4 allowed the #02 to break into the top five, where Gannon would remain a factor for the remainder of the 125-lap feature.
Even as the unresolved engine issue continued to impact performance, Gannon delivered a determined drive—navigating heavy traffic, multiple restarts, and a lengthy red flag for oil cleanup following a late-race incident.
With the field reset for a Green-White-Checkered finish, Gannon held strong to secure 4th place, capping off a resilient opening night performance.
“This team never quit,” said co-owner Roy Berlinghoff. “We had a problem we couldn’t fully diagnose, but Eric drove the wheels off it. To come out of here with a top-five finish against this level of competition says a lot about this team.” ,
